I just came from the Climbing Wall, where my 12-year old son paid $13 to climb for an hour, then found out that it was too crowded to do any good climbing. I picked him up 20 minutes after dropping him off, and of course asked for my son's money back. The management refused. I pointed out that my son had not gotten what he paid for--a real chance to climb--and they said, basically, 'Tough luck: we have your money, and we're not giving it back.' I pointed out that, if you buy a movie ticket, and don't get a seat, they give your money back. No dice. I pointed out that a 12-year old kid who likes climbing could spend a lot of money at a climbing wall over the years, and that it might be good business to keep a regular customer happy. It didn't matter: they had my kid's money, and they weren't letting go of it.
This is the second or third time the people who run the Climbing Wall have been real jerks to me or to one of my kids. They have no integrity whatever, and don't care about customers. I recommend that you spend your climbing dollars elsewhere.
